Kabir

Kal Kare So Āj Kar

Kabir compresses urgency into two lines: the right time is not someday, but now.

Why return to it: A doha about impermanence, attention, and the danger of postponing what matters.

Included here: Hindi in Devanagari, English transliteration, Urdu, and an English translation for easier access across scripts and readers.

Hindi · Devanagari

English Transliteration

Kal Kare So Āj Kar

Kāl kare so āj kar, āj kare so ab. Pal mein pralay hoyegī, bahuri karegā kab.

English Translation

Poetic English rendering

What waits for tomorrow, bring into today; what waits for today, do this very breath. The world can change in a blink — who knows whether another chance will come?
