Meera

Baso More Nainan Mein Nandlāl

Meera asks the beloved not merely to visit, but to live inside her seeing.

Why return to it: This is a prayer for perception itself to be transformed.

Included here: Hindi in Devanagari, English transliteration, Urdu, and an English translation for easier access across scripts and readers.

English Translation

Poetic English rendering

Come live in my eyes, Nandlal; let my seeing become your home. Let your dark, beautiful form fill the inner sky until there is no room for anything else. Your flute rests at lips sweet with nectar, your garland shines upon your chest. Meera's Lord, joy of the saints, beloved Gopal, remain where my gaze can never lose you.
